Whether you are looking to protect your baby's skin or soothe them with a bath, here are some gentle care tips from Huggies® Pure & Natural diapers. They're sure to help calm and comfort your child.

Warm oatmeal baths can soothe baby's skin.
Looking to soothe baby's skin? Try giving them an oatmeal bath. Blend a cup of unflavored quick oats or slow-cooked oatmeal in your blender/food processor until it's a fine, consistent powder.
Bath Time: Sprinkle the oatmeal into baby's bath, and stir the water. The water will have a milky look and silky feel. Bathe baby for 10-15 minutes, then pat dry.

Calm and relax baby with a massage.
After a bath, why not gently massage baby with a small amount of oil to keep their skin moisturized? Babies also love foot massages, which can help calm their nervous system.
Foot Massage: Using a little oil, take your thumbs and gently massage the bottom of baby's feet in small, circular motions—then gently stretch each toe up.

Quiet a fussy newborn with striking visuals.
Skip the pastels... newborns are more visually engaged by black and white patterns. Colors like blue, yellow, red and green are best after baby is 3 months or older.
Mind the Mobile: Relax baby before bedtime, and when they wake, with over-the-crib mobiles in age-appropriate colors and patterns. Some even play music for added soothing.

Make some noise... to keep the peace.
White noise, or some type of consistent background noise, is a common way to lull infants to sleep. Why? The repetitive noise helps quiet baby, and soothes them.
Try It Now: The static noise made by a radio in between stations can work well. Or buy a white noise machine with a variety of settings: running water, gentle waves, etc.

Summer heat making baby hot and cranky? Comfort them fast.
A hot, sweaty and uncomfortable baby can mean a fussy, loud, unhappy baby. Fortunately, you can give them soothing comfort fast.
Quick Fix: Strip baby down to their Huggies® diapers. Wet a washcloth in cold water to get it damp, then gently pat your baby all over with the cold cloth. They'll love it.

Smells like mom? Keeps baby calm.
Did you know your baby is calmed by your smell? While it may seem a little nutty, why not wear your baby's blanket as a scarf, or sleep cuddling their favorite toy for a few nights.
Mom Is Near: Once you’ve worn or cuddled up to that toy or blanket, put it in their crib or car seat, to keep them soothed day and night.

Get creative when soothing your colicky baby.
Colicky baby? Great time to let dad be a hero. Try having him sing in a deep low voice, or place baby tummy-down on daddy's forearm (head in the elbow) in a classic football hold.
Magic Mirror: Hold your colicky baby in front of a mirror and let them watch themselves. If you can, put his hand or foot against his "mirror self", and watch the mesmerized child grow quiet.

Teething baby? Give them something to chew on.
Babies can be especially cranky and irritated when teething. But something for them to put in their mouths and chew on can ease their discomfort and calm them down.
Tickle Time: Look into massage-action teethers, which vibrate when baby chews them. These teethers can soothe and massage gums to make one happy baby.
